Rebuke the Bait of Satan—Sow Love and Reap Love

"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." — Galatians 6:7

Have you ever poured out love and care for someone, only to feel like it wasn’t returned? It’s painful, isn’t it? You give your time, your kindness, your patience, and your love, but it seems to go unnoticed or even unappreciated. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to grow bitter and discouraged in these moments. He wants you to take the bait.

The bait of Satan is offense, and it often comes disguised as hurt or disappointment. But you have the power to choose whether you will take the bait or stand firm in God’s love.

Sow Unconditional Love

"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." — 1 Peter 4:8

When you sow love, even in situations where it’s not returned, you are planting seeds for future growth. You may not see the immediate results, but trust that God sees your heart and will honor your obedience in His perfect timing.

Unconditional love does not come with expectations. It simply gives, as Christ gave His love to us, knowing we can never repay Him. Love for the sake of love.

Lead with Love—Even When It’s Hard

"Let all that you do be done in love." — 1 Corinthians 16:14

When we lead with love, we reflect God’s heart for humanity. His love never fails, and neither should ours. Even when it seems like the effort isn’t being reciprocated, continue to sow love. You are planting seeds that will eventually produce a harvest of love.

When you lead with love, you can trust that:

  • You will reap the love you sow — it may not be in the way you expect, but God is faithful.

  • Your love will never return void. Even if the person you’re loving doesn’t show appreciation, God will honor your efforts.

  • Love fuels the fire. It keeps the flame of God’s light burning bright in your life, and you become a living testimony of His goodness and grace.

Actionable Steps to Sow Love:

  1. Check your expectations. Are you loving with conditions or with an open heart? Examine your motives and choose to love without expecting anything in return.

  2. Pray for the strength to love unconditionally. Ask God to help you sow seeds of love, even in challenging situations.

  3. Choose not to be offended. When someone’s actions hurt you, choose to forgive quickly and move forward in love. Do not take the bait of offense.

  4. Be a conduit of God's love. In every interaction, no matter how big or small, let God’s love flow through you. Smile at strangers, encourage your loved ones, and offer grace to those who have wronged you.

  5. Remember: love never fails. Trust that God’s love will produce a harvest. You may not see it today, but He is faithful to honor your obedience.

Your Challenge Today:

  • Ask God to help you sow love in every area of your life, even when it’s not returned.

  • Drop a “❤️” in the comments if you commit to leading with love and sowing goodness into the world around you.
