What is it that you truly want?
For me, the words light and love kept surfacing in my heart.
I want to fully and unapologetically love myself. I want to share my light with others. I want my children to feel it so deeply that they naturally radiate love and kindness wherever they go. I want my discipline, my obedience, my unwavering faith to be a testimony that helps others struggling to find their way back to who God has called them to be.
I want to be the change I wish to see—in my home, in my marriage, in my career, in my friendships, and most importantly, in my walk with God.
But wanting it is not enough.
What am I willing to sacrifice to have it?
How can I stay obedient and disciplined—even when I don’t feel like it?Even when the results don’t come in the way I expect?Even when there are a million reasons to give up?
Do it anyway. Trust the process.
1. Love and Light Begin With You
"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." — Matthew 5:16
Before I can pour love and light into others, I have to make sure I am filled with it myself.
Love yourself the way God loves you—completely, without condition.
Speak life over yourself (Proverbs 18:21).
Take care of your body, mind, and spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
When you operate from a place of love and light, your home, your children, your marriage, and your relationships will naturally reflect the overflow.
2. Walk in Obedience and Discipline
"Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it." — Luke 11:28
Obedience isn’t always convenient. Discipline isn’t always easy. But they are the keys to unlocking God’s best for your life.
Ask yourself:
Am I being intentional in my prayer life?
Am I making time for God’s Word daily?
Am I trusting Him even when the results aren’t immediate?
Discipline isn’t just about doing what’s easy. It’s about doing what’s necessary.
3. Be the Example You Want to See
"Set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity." — 1 Timothy 4:12
Your children are watching. Your spouse is watching. The people around you are witnessing your faith in action.
Love yourself so your children learn how to love themselves.
Pursue peace in your marriage so your home is filled with God’s presence.
Show kindness to others so that your relationships reflect His love.
You cannot demand change from others if you are not first willing to be the change yourself.
4. Sacrifice What’s Holding You Back
"Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." — Luke 9:23
If you want growth, healing, transformation, and abundance, you have to be willing to let go of what’s been holding you back.
Sacrifice comfort for obedience.
Sacrifice doubt for faith.
Sacrifice excuses for action.
Ask yourself: What is God asking me to lay down so that I can rise up?
5. Keep Going—Even When It’s Hard
"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." — Galatians 6:9
There will be moments when you feel discouraged. When you feel like nothing is changing. When you wonder if all your efforts are worth it.
Keep going anyway.
Even when you don’t see the results.Even when it feels like your prayers are unheard.Even when the journey is long, painful, and exhausting.
Because greater is ahead.
Trust the Process, Trust God
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11
If God has placed a desire in your heart—to be the light, to love fiercely, to transform your life—it’s not by accident.
The process may be slow, but it is intentional.
Every prayer, every moment of discipline, every act of obedience is shaping you into the person God created you to be.
So trust Him. Trust that your sacrifice will be worth it. Trust that your faithfulness will be rewarded.
Because the harvest is coming.
